Doors Direct supplies premium kiln-dried meranti timber door frames and door jambs for internal and external doors across South Africa. Whether you're fitting a new door or replacing a warped or out-of-square frame, our door frames are precision-made to keep your doors operating smoothly and your home properly secured.

Internal & External Door Frames

Our range covers two standard height configurations — one suited to internal doors and one to external doors. All frames are supplied unassembled for safe long-distance delivery and come with full fitting instructions. Single and double door apertures are available in standard South African door sizes.

What Is a Door Jamb?

A door jamb is the vertical timber side section of a door frame. Jambs bear the weight of the door and keep the frame square and plumb. Over time, minor foundation movement can cause jambs to shift out of vertical, leading to doors that stick at the top or bottom. Replacing the frame early prevents damage to the door itself.

Material & Finish

All Doors Direct door frames are manufactured from high-quality, kiln-dried meranti timber. The timber is supplied untreated and unprimed, ready to paint in any colour. Kiln-drying stabilises the wood, reducing the risk of warping, swelling, or shrinkage after installation.

What sizes are your door frames available in?
Our door frames are available in standard South African single and double door sizes. The two height configurations cover internal and external door applications. Contact us if you require a non-standard size or have an unusual aperture.

Can I order a custom size door frame?

Are the door frames supplied assembled or unassembled?
Door frames are supplied unassembled for ease of transport. Each frame includes full assembly instructions. Our team is available via email or WhatsApp if you need guidance during installation.

All our door frames are made from kiln-dried meranti timber — a durable hardwood widely used in South African joinery. Kiln-drying ensures dimensional stability, reducing the risk of warping after installation.
